Reni has started asking, "coo-kie?" whenever he is hungry. At first he was actually just asking for a cookie, but then if it's not what he wanted he would tell you "no," and put his hand up in a "no-way-ho-say" manner, and point at what he really wanted (anything from chocolate milk to dinner) and say, "coo-kie?" It is adorable.
Also, the past few days he has been mimicking like a parrot. Parroting nearly every word. I forgot how fascinating the evolution of language development is to watch. Yesterday, he came up to me, crying, tugging at my ankle. What's wrong? I asked him. Are you tired? Hungry? Thirsty? Poopy? At this last inquiry, he perked up. "Poo-pie?" he said. And he was.
This afternoon, he came up to me and said "poo-pie?" And he was.
And then there's this tidbit from Anika, who cracks me up with her new exclamations whenever I pick her up from school. On Tuesday: "mama, hi! Did you have a good day?" Today's was, "mama! You found me!" Always exclaimed with pure joy and accompanied by a huge grin that even gets her teacher giggling.
Anika's excitement is so contagious! Watching kids learn to talk is such fun! Go Reni!
