Bubbles! Sidewalk chalk! Babies in the bathtub!

I've whipped out the camera quite a bit the past few days, so humor me as I take you through what we've been up to.

First, I couldn't resist this shot. Like father, like daughter.

Meanwhile, Mr. Reni continues his love affair with cereal:

And he has a new toy: a walker. He usually gets himself going at quite a clip -- reverse is the only gear he seems to have at the moment -- and then stuck in a corner.

As Reni contemplated his options for escape, Anika (btw, in case you were wondering, this kid is either Full Monty -- sometimes with diaper or pull-up if we're lucky -- or choosing her own outfits and looking rather like one of Orphan Annie's tag-a-longs. Either way, she's learning to dress and undress herself so I'm just going with it) discovered the joy that is sidewalk chalk. I managed to keep it out of Reni's mouth, and mostly on the sidewalk (at least for the first five minutes).

Then we had to wash up. Not the first time they've taken a bath together, but still not our usual bedtime routine since Reni is always ready for shut-eye much, much earlier than his sister.

Today we were able to keep her in the cart at Costco thanks to the promise of bubbles. Little did she know that this was a bubble machine, which shoots out the stuff like a machine gun in Never Never Land (leave it to Costco to turn even bubbles gargantuan). Ani spent the first minute or so in pure awe and overload. Then she got right to the business of finding out how the thing worked, and wanted to turn it on and off herself, and spin the little contraption, and then -- and only then -- was she content to chase the bubbles around a bit. For his part, Reni thought it was awesome. Then again, he thinks pretty much anything is awesome. That's why he is so awesome.
