One Step at a Time

Boy, Anika wants to walk.  Very badly.  She practices nearly every waking moment of every day, pulling up to standing using anything that she can put her hands on to propel upward.  Our lack of furniture makes this more of a challenge, but we have found a few toys that allow her to move and be up off of the floor.  Of course, she still prefers to climb up onto the fireplace or to scale Mount Mom, but kids always prefer the free or discarded or dangerous or just downright exhausting option.

I had a friend and experienced mom over on Friday for some wine and pasta, and she remarked that she thinks Anika may be walking within the next month or so.  It would be mighty early, but who knows; Anika is so diligent and methodical in her movements, I wouldn't be too surprised.

(I would publish a video, but alas, daddy's phone is the only contraption we have that takes those fancy moving pictures.)
