Happy Father's Day!

We are celebrating Armando's first Father's Day with some low-key activities:  watering the yard, watching Italy vs. New Zealand and Brazil vs. Ivory Coast in the World Cup (BEST gift ever, btw, thank you, FIFA), finishing the half-done paint job upstairs and organizing some paperwork so our first-time father can start out Monday morning in an official office.  (Wish us luck on that last one, as it's a pretty tall order....the kitchen is piled high with papers, files, boxes, seven or eight staplers - how did we end up with that many staplers?! and lots of junk that we'll throw up there and probably never look at again).

Here are a few photos we took this morning in our new backyard:

Our fountain -- we saw two robins taking a drink from it this morning

One of the strange bushes planted in the backyard -- we've nicknamed this one the Dr. Seuss Tree because its flowers look like Thneeds (you know, from The Lorax)

The Dad watering the trees

And, just for fun, look what was in one of the storage boxes -- I can sit up on my own, mom, and it's so cool!
