Reni discovered stairs at the grandparents' house (we live in a little one-story casita, so he'd never seen them before). Days one and two he kept crawling over there and would stand at the base of the steps, gazing skyward as if it were insurmountable. Days three and four and five he could get up the first step, then maybe the second, before falling backward or giving up and sitting down. Then, suddenly, he had it! And he was so thrilled with himself that he did a little happy dance at nearly every step.
