Our Mother's Day 2.0 started out strong, with us out the door by 9:30 for a planned half-day excursion of Old Town, brunch, and a Tiffany exhibit at the museum. We flew through the exhibit (who would have guessed that toddler squeals are frowned upon by docents in uncomfortable-looking polyester uniforms?) and enjoyed about a minute of the Mariachi band playing in the square before we could put off the eating no longer, and found a restaurant with open tables and all the chips and salsa you can devour. This entertained our toddler for about ten minutes before she wanted OUT. By the time we got home, she had spiked a fever of over 102 and wanted nothing but to lay on that spot where my lap used to be which is now all baby and schmooshed organs. I allowed her to schmoosh my stomach even further and sleep most of the afternoon with me on the couch (not the gardening followed by bubble bath that I was hoping for, but eh, snuggling is pretty sweet too, even if you're forced to watch back-to-back episodes of Khloe & Lamar) and she is still running a fever over 24 hours later.
I did manage to take a few pictures of our day prior to the fever taking over; failed to get one of me with Ani or a family pic, but you all know what we look like by now.
Cute as a button, even sick! I wonder where the fever came from? Hope she's feeling better today! Happy Mother's Day to you, my dear!
