We have snow in the Southwest!
It rained most of yesterday, and then just barely got cold enough to have heavy clumps (one could hardly call them flakes) falling, but I didn't have high hopes that we would have snowman weather in the morning. Well, when teething woke up Anika a few times in the middle of the night, I was greeted with a winter wonderland outside. Between that and the twinkling Christmas lights, both on our tree and dotting our neighbor's houses, it was quite festive. At least for 2 a.m. If you're going to be up soothing a baby, you might as well have something interesting to look at.
We cancelled my yoga class and I am going to enjoy the morning by making some apple cider and motivating myself to begin the long process of cleaning for Anika's birthday party on Sunday. Well, ok, my morning might not be so enjoyable. But at this very moment, with the snow outside, the mountains hidden behind huge rolling clouds, and Ani playing happily with her Elmo phone, I am basking in the holiday feeling.
Beautiful!
