Balloons!

We awoke to that strange Darth Vader-like sound of the hot air balloon fffffffsssshhhhh-ing as the flame shot hot air up into its floating emptiness, and we ran outside to see if we could catch a glimpse of one that sounded like it was right above our heads.

It was.

Anika gaped, and pointed, and made her little talking noises, and then inhaled with that strange half-gull half-prehistoric bird noise that she makes when she's really happy or excited about something.

It was a great way to start the day.


Then we tried a new kind of cereal, mixed with homemade applesauce from our apple tree (yes, I know, it's even weirder to me that I would be an apprentice to Martha Stewart, but I couldn't let all of those apples go to waste) and I was awarded with a series of funny faces that my camera is too slow to capture accurately:
