The appraisal is done, the inspection turned up virtually nothing (these people are members of the plastic-covering-everything tribe), and our realtor told us today that things are looking good and we can even move our close date up to the 15th of June. We are ecstatic. That's 10 less days in the hotel and mountains of relief knowing that the loan is 99.99999% approved.
So tonight, we'll be toasting. We see lots of wallpaper removal and painting in our future, and we'll have to become regulars at Sears since most of the appliances don't convey, but the house feels like home already.
Miss Anika is actually asleep right now - 7:15 is not a bad bedtime, if I can get her to stay down - so I'm hoping that today's good news continues and she is able to get sufficient shut-eye. She's so active and curious and wiggly during the day that it's no wonder she gets exhausted. We think she likes the house, too, because she was gaping and grasping at everything, and even when the current owners' dog started barking and jumping to nip at her feet, Anika just stared at it as if to say, what the heck are YOU doing here?
Incidentally, we will not be getting a dog.
