One of Armando's nicknames for Anika is "baldy," since she seems to have lost most of her hair. She even has a bona fide bald spot in the middle of the back of her head, thanks to her Stevie Wonder-esque head moves when she's lying down and frustrated about something. We're hoping it grows back soon, and the little hairs that are sprouting forth are much lighter (and a bit redder) than her previous crop. In the meantime, we are now living with two very fuzzy wuzzy creatures, Husker and Buster, who are always good for a snuggle and a few laughs here and there.
Take Husker, for example. Always seeking out a reliable heat source, he found my laptop the other night and got comfy enough to fall asleep:
Then there's Buster, who will make any perch habitable in his search for a little love:
What's really curious is that Anika doesn't acknowledge these furry friends - even when they slink over and dare to get close, she gets that bored look on her face and averts her eyes. One thing she does love staring at, however (in addition to faces, lights and ceiling fans), is the TV. Here she is watching the Nuggets game with her Uncle Eli:
She also adores her daddy and loves sitting on his lap and watching mom go crazy with this strange camera contraption:
Well, she may be balding, but her little expressions always succeed in giving me the fuzzy wuzzies.
